Nanotech Measurement Contest Rules

Keithley sponsors contest to reward excellence in the development of electrical measurement techniques for nanotech materials and devices.
1. This contest is open to Keithley equipment users worldwide who are involved with electrical measurements on nanotechnology materials and devices and who are 18 years of age or older, except Keithley Instruments' employees and their immediate families, the company's sales representatives, distributors and other sales channel members, and employees of R&D Magazine and Reed Business Publications. All U.S. federal, state, and local laws and regulations apply. The contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law.
2. To enter, complete the online entry form in its entirety, providing e-mail address, phone number, name, and postal address. Only one entry per person is allowed. Entries must be submitted by end of day August 31, 2006. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter.
3. Entries made via the Internet will be considered to have been made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address of the entry submission. The authorized account holder is defined herein as the person assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet service provider, access provider, or other entity charged with administering e-mail addresses for the domain in question.
4. Editors of R&D Magazine will judge the entries according to the criteria detailed above and the contents of the contest entry form. Judges' decisions will be final.
5. Prizes: Monetary prizes for the three best entries will be:
           1st Place: $2,500.00
           2nd Place: $1,500.00
           3rd Place: $1,000.00
Keithley Instruments will arrange for delivery of prizes. No substitutions will be allowed.
6. Winners will be required to complete a Winner's Acceptance Form and return it to Keithley prior to the prize being sent to the winner.
7. Winners are responsible for all related taxes. A winner may elect to transfer the prize to his or her employers or to a charity. Winners who are U.S. residents must provide all relevant information needed for IRS reporting purposes. Keithley's Tax Department will prepare the Form 1099-MISC for filing with the IRS and send a copy to the winner or his designee.
8. In the event that a winner's place of employment has changed prior to a prize being awarded, or he or she cannot be located for any other reason, an alternate winner will be selected.
9. Winners will be required to provide a signed publicity/liability release. By accepting a prize, the winner consents to the use of his or her name by Keithley Instruments, Inc. and its advertising, public relations, and marketing agencies without further compensation. Keithley has the right to publish or post any contest entries in its sales literature or on its web site with appropriate citations and credits.
10. Neither Keithley Instruments, its sales representatives, nor its distributors are responsible for any damages, taxes, or expenses the winner might incur as a result of this contest or receipt of prize.
11. Contest lasts through August 31, 2006. Keithley Instruments will notify winners by regular mail, e-mail, or phone. The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received by the contest's closing date.
12. Keithley Instruments assumes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction, or unauthorized access to, or alteration of, entries.
13. Entrants agree to abide by these rules and by the decisions of the judges, which are final and binding on all matters pertaining to contest entries.
14. Keithley Instruments reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry process and to suspend, modify, terminate, or cancel the contest.
