High Profile Gala Fundraiser in 6 Short Weeks!
Event: Cleveland Cavalier's LeBron James "Toast to the King" Gala and Fundraiser
Challenge: In just 6 weeks, create an inaugural annual gala fundraiser for The James Family Foundation to further its mission of Hope, Help, and Heart.
Solution: Working with the Foundation's Director and staff, Wizard of Ah's researched appropriate venues that had the flexibility to support a yet-to-be-determined themed event. We knew that the event would have to be unique, exciting, generate buzz for this and subsequent years, and provide value for the ticket/table cost.
 
After some discussion with multiple concepts, the "King's Court" theme was proposed and adopted. The "Court" consisted of Cleveland Cavalier's player Damon Jones, and "A" level comedians Cedric the Entertainer, Mo'nique, Paul Rodriguez, Ralphie May, and Alex Thomas.
 
A hotel ballroom was transformed into "The King's Court", complete with a throne and a coat of armor. The evening consisted of a gourmet dinner, a presentation from The James Family Foundation and Boys Hope, Girls Hope (co-recipient of the raised funds) and an after dinner "roast" of King James.
Results: The event was conceived, themed, planned, and executed within the 6-week timeframe during the Christmas and New Year holidays. Nearly 37 tables were sold at $10,000 each.

This private and unique event was covered in the national media, providing awareness for the Foundation. It not only raised significant funds for The James Family Foundation and Boy's Hope, Girls Hope, but also raised the bar for fundraisers of this caliber.
