A Company Party That Really Took Off!
Event: Time Warner Company Picnic
Challenge: Find an unique location and create a summer family picnic event for Time Warner clients and employees that would appeal to all age groups and cultures. The event needed to be fun, provide universal entertainment, and foster team building between employees and clients.
Solution: Wizard of Ah's located an airport with a private "hangar" that functioned as a catering facility. The airport allowed us to provide continual free air tours of the surrounding area, plus unique rides in an open cockpit antique bi-plane.
 
The hangar was themed and decorated in an aviation motif. The barbecued food was prepared on-site in a "show-kitchen" presentation. Guests were able to eat this high-end picnic food in air-conditioned comfort as the local star of a blues band played live on stage.
 
The day was filled with field games, competitions, and prizes including pie and watermelon eating contests, team-building exercises, balloon tosses, sack races, and frozen tee shirts. The day's events were crowned with the arrival of the "Good Humor" truck that distributed signature ice cream treats to the entire crowd.
Results: 150 Time Warner employees and clients enjoyed a hot summer day with their families in a friendly atmosphere that promoted family fun, camaraderie, and team building. The day created memories and anticipation for the next company outing. Most importantly, employees and clients experienced a thank you from Time Warner that exceeded expectations and demonstrated the company's appreciation.
